Gran Teatre del Liceu

The construction Barcelona’s Opera House the Gran théâtre de Liceu was founded by Catalan businessman. When it opened in 1847 all kinds of shows were staged there. As the years went by it began concentrating in opera, dance and music concerts throughout its history.

De Liceu has been the mainspring of social and cultural life in Barcelona. n In 1994 the auditorium and stage were totally gutted by fire. The theatre reopened in 1999.

Make every effort to go to the Gran Teatre del Liceu and enjoy the fantastic operas and ballets that are performed there. You’ll have a great evening and see some wonderful talent.

Check with the theatre ahead of time to see what performances are taking place when you will be in town. Then buy your tickets early to make sure you’ll get a seat.
